Cindy Martin specializes in media relations, written communications and strategy development for farrell kramer communications. Her skill set extends across a broad range of industries.
Trained as a journalist, Martin began her public relations career in the utility industry with the Salt River Project, one of Arizona's largest power and water providers, and GTE Communications Systems.
She eventually switched to the agency side of the business, and held management positions with four Chicago public relations firms, most recently The Financial Relations Board (FRB). While at FRB she provided strategic counsel to senior management of publicly traded companies nationwide, and secured positive coverage for clients in a variety of local, regional and national business media. During her tenure, she received a Public Relations Society of America Award of Excellence for an investor relations program implemented on behalf of a major pharmaceutical services company.
Martin also spent more than a decade as a sole practitioner specializing in writing and media relations for a variety of clients. During that time, she served as trade media contact for the nation's third largest corporate travel management company, developing and implementing communications plans for two mergers within a three-year period. She also worked with five divisions of a multi-national petrochemical company, serving on its communications committee, which at the time was composed only of employees.
Martin is an honors graduate of Arizona State University, where she received a bachelor's degree in journalism education. She also completed graduate work at Arizona State University, the University of Illinois, and the University of Phoenix.
