The issue of corporate blogging is still sizzling away on the front burner. From a PR perspective, blogs are a great resource, giving a company it's own, interactive media outlet.
Yet, there's that nagging concern about the resources needed to pull off a blog. Namely, someone to write posts consistently.
Well, Darren Rowse, who writes the fine ProBlogger blog, which is packed with tips for effective blogging, has now started a jobs board for bloggers. Bloggers can find jobs there, but -- even more important for our purposes -- companies looking to blog can hire an experienced blogger to help out. The board draws its audience from followers of Rowse's own blog.
ProBlogger readers range from the beginner blogger looking to start their first blog (undiscovered raw talent) through to the more experienced blogger with years of experience. No matter what you’re looking for, you’re sure to find someone that fits the bill among our readers.
Add Your Job to our Listings here and selecting which category of job you’re looking to position (we’re open to suggestions for other categories) what the job entails and how bloggers should contact you.
Your ad will appear in the top right hand corner of ProBlogger’s main page (we’ll feature the last five ads there) as well as on the main page of the job board and category pages. It’ll also be featured on RSS feeds which we expect to be popular with bloggers looking for jobs.
For organizations looking to set up a first blog, having a professional blogger on staff could be a great resource. Of course, I'd be careful not to turn this person into a ghostwriter for, say, a CEO.
But a blogger who is a member of a company's staff -- writing as himself or herself -- could be a great anchor for a company blog that features occasional posts from the CEO or other top executives. It would allow companies to have meaningful, ongoing conversations with customers and other core groups.
